Just for fun, I thought I’d share 5 little things making my life better lately.
None of these are revolutionary, but that’s kind of the point.
Sometimes wellness is less about finding the next big thing and more about noticing the little things that make an ordinary day feel a little more special.
So, here’s what I’m loving lately:
1. My current favorite breakfast
Two fried eggs with sautéed cherry tomatoes, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning + a piece of really good, toasted sourdough.
Then I break up the sourdough and scoop the eggs and tomatoes on top bite by bite.
I don’t know why, but it feels so luxurious. Like something I should be eating at a cute little café instead of standing in my own kitchen.
It’s warm, satisfying, nourishing and super simple. Proof that healthy food does not have to be sad food. 😉

2. Opening every window in my house
This one feels especially good after living through a remodel for more than a year.
In the morning, I’ve been walking through the house and opening the windows and doors, letting in the fresh air and daylight.
Such a simple thing but after being cooped up in construction for so long, it feels like a luxury.
It’s one of those tiny things that immediately changes how the whole house feels.
3. Off-leash walks with Dillon
Dillon can finally go off leash on some of our walks, so I’ve been taking him up to the open space near our house and letting him RUN.
And now I finally understand why people say their dog’s happiness makes them happy.
I swear he smiles the entire time. 😂
I’m outside, I’m walking, I’m in nature. He’s having the time of his life.
It feels like I’m doing something good for him and myself at the same time and it’s become one of my favorite simple pleasures.

4. A book + show combination that had perfect timing
On vacation over the summer, I found The Five-Star Weekend in a Little Free Library and picked it up on a whim.
Then I discovered the series had just come out on Peacock!
I read the book and then watched the whole series and really enjoyed it.
I’ve also recently read Theo of Golden and God of the Woods if you’re looking for something to add to your reading list.
5. A few beauty products I’m actually enjoying
I stopped wearing perfume for years because I was trying to reduce artificial fragrances in my day and over time I became really sensitive to strong scents.
Everything started feeling overpowering.
Recently, I’ve been using a fragrance from DIME that I really like. It feels much lighter to me and it’s been fun to wear perfume again without feeling overwhelmed by it.
I’ve also been using their Dewy Day Cream and really liking that too.

BONUS: Olipop cream soda.
Okay, I apparently have six things. 😂
I love an Olipop as an occasional little treat, and the cream soda is my favorite.
Sometimes when we have friends over I’ll pour one into a nice glass in place of alcohol and it makes me feel like I’m still having a fun drink, even if I’m not partaking in cocktail hour.
And that’s my very unofficial list right now.
Eggs on sourdough.
Open windows.
A happy dog.
Good books.
A few beauty finds.
And cream soda in a fancy glass.
Nothing life-changing. But again, maybe that’s the point.
There are so many messages telling us we need to optimize our lives to feel better.
Sometimes I think we just need to pay attention to what’s already making them good.💛
