This week, something I look forward to all year is happening:
The entire Lindywell team is coming to Santa Barbara!
We’re a fully remote team of 13, spread out across the country, so once a year we bring everyone together for our annual Team Summit.
And it got me thinking that while you see me in your app all the time (sometimes in a very sweaty state), there are so many people you don’t see who make Lindywell what it is.
So today I thought I’d take you behind the scenes.

Lindywell is built by a small but mighty team of 13 people.
Some have been here for 7+ years. Some are newer to the team. And this year, we’ll even be meeting one team member in person for the first time. (Yay, Hilary!)
We’re spread out across the country.
Many of us are moms.
Many of us were Lindywell members before we ever worked here – and are still members today.

And we genuinely care about the experience you have every time you open the app.
There are people behind the scenes planning your workouts and programs.
Editing and designing new content.
Designing what you see in the app.
Making sure the technology actually works when you press play. (No small feat.)
Answering your questions when you reach out to our Care Team.
Reading your feedback.
Solving problems.
Dreaming up new ideas.
And constantly asking:
How can we make taking care of yourself feel easier and more doable?
Because that’s really what connects all 13 of us.

We believe that taking care of yourself shouldn’t feel like another thing you’re failing at.
We believe movement can be something you look forward to.
We believe consistency matters more than perfection.
And we believe in pursuing wellness – both for ourselves and for the women we serve.

Which means our Team Summit probably looks a little different than your typical corporate retreat.
We’ll spend plenty of time around a table talking about where Lindywell is going next.
But we’ll also take walking meetings along the beach.
We’ll break up longer work sessions with movement breaks.
We’ll even do Pilates on the beach together.
And this year, we’re doing an olive oil tasting hosted by a Lindywell member here in Santa Barbara – how cool is that?
But one of my favorite parts of our summit is what we bring into the room with us:
YOU.
Before we get together, our team gathers the feedback we’ve heard from members throughout the year.
The workouts you’re asking for, the features you’d love to have, the things you’re struggling with, the questions that keep coming into our Care Team…
Then we get to sit around the same table and talk about it.
What are women needing right now?
How can we support them better?
What’s missing?
What could we make simpler?
What would make Lindywell even more helpful in their real, everyday lives?
Those conversations shape so much of what eventually shows up in your app and even in these Wellness Wednesday emails.

And I wish you could see how much this team cares.
Yes, Lindywell is a fitness and wellness app.
But behind that app is a group of 13 humans who really, really care about helping women feel good in their bodies and build habits that support them for life.
I’m really grateful for this team.
Running an app that serves tens of thousands of women around the world means there are always problems to solve, things to improve and new ideas to explore.
And I feel incredibly lucky that we get to do it together.
This week, we’ll all be sitting around the same table asking how we can make Lindywell even better for you.
So I’d love to give you a seat at that table, too.
Leave a comment and tell me:
If you could ask the Lindywell team to create, change or add ONE thing in the year ahead, what would it be?
While we won’t be able to reply to every one since we’re out of office this week, you can trust that we are reading them.
