Do you ever clean your Pilates mat?
Here’s a simple DIY mat cleaner you can make at home!
This simple recipe utilizes witch hazel, water, and essential oils. You can switch up the oils based on your preferences, but here are the reasons I chose tea tree, lavender, and peppermint oil in my DIY mat cleaner:
Lavender: eliminates nervous tension, disinfectant properties, and means “to wash” due to its cleansing aroma.
Peppermint: antimicrobial properties, improve mental focus, and energizing.
Tea Tree (aka: melaleuca): antimicrobial properties, removes odor, and removes mold.

Supplies:
Ingredients:
3/4 cup distilled water
1/4 cup alcohol-free witch hazel (white vinegar would work too)
5 drops lavender oil
3 drops peppermint oil
3 drops tea tree oil
*Note: When adding essential oils, we recommend first testing on a small part of your mat.
Directions:
Combine ingredients in a glass spray bottle and shake to mix. Spray DIY mat cleaner on your mat, wipe with a cloth, and allow to air dry.
