Are we really approaching the end of the year?!
I know it’s cliche, but I can’t believe how fast the past few months have gone by.
Here we are, approaching holiday season and the start of a New Year. It snuck up on me, but I’m ready for it.
At the end of every year I like to do a review of the top 10 most popular posts.
It’s a great opportunity to share posts that you may have missed (especially if you’re new here) and it’s also a way that I find balance in the midst of the busy holiday season (practicing what I preach here, beauties).
It’s good for me to take a bit of a mental break during the month of December so that I can come back in January with fresh ideas and new workouts (yay!) for you in January.
Different seasons call for different priorities and this season calls for a little bit less screen time and little bit more family time.
But I also love looking back on The Balanced Life at the end of the year and rounding up the best content for you to enjoy. 🙂

Less Pinning, More Doing
I spent the majority of the weekend with my nose in Shauna Niequist’s new book, Bread & Wine. I was lucky enough to get an advance copy and have loved every page thus far (especially when she mentions her experience on The PBP!). One thing caught my attention in particular last night and I just had to share my thoughts with you.
Bread & Wine is a book about cooking, community and all the wonderful things that can happen when you live life around the table. At one point she mentions the concept of our information-overloaded society being fooled into the fact that if we read about something, watch something, tweet about something, talk about something, etc. we somehow lead ourselves into the belief that we’ve actually done that thing.
