TBL Favorites: July 2019

Hi Beauties!

I hope you enjoyed the Monthly Teaser in your inbox this morning! (If you’re not signed up for our monthly roundup, you can join our list here.)

The team and I have so much fun compiling our favorite things to share with you each month! Hopefully they spark inspiration, provide joy, help you find a new pair of running shoes, try a new recipe, or read a new book!

Currently Listening to:

As someone who deals with decision fatigue on a regular basis, I really enjoyed this podcast with Lara Casey and Emily P. Freeman.

I have been totally fascinated and borderline obsessed with learning about brain health lately, and this podcast with Dr. Amen about 11 Risk Factors That Destroy Your Brain was incredibly enlightening. Don’t worry, it’s not quite as scary as the title sounds…but it is definitely eye opening!

“To be honest…I’m listening to the new Jonas Brothers.” ? – Becky

“I’m looking for summer reading picks so I’ve been checking out Anne Bogel’s podcast “One Great Book” – they’re short + sweet episodes (less than 10 minutes) where she describes one of her favorites. A great way to get some new titles!” – Martha

“I’m loving the SHE Podcast with Jordan Dooley.” – Sarah

Currently Reading:

“I’m using The Modern Mrs. Darcy’s 2019 summer reading guide to make my own summer reading list!” – Martha

“I just caught up on the Outlander TV series, so I’ve decided to start the books (backwards, I know), but I’m looking forward to diving in over the 4th of July holiday.” – Jordin

Grumpy Mom Takes A Holiday by Valerie Woerner – this book is so refreshing and practical!” – Sarah

“I’m reading Free to Focus by Michael Hyatt.” – Becky

Wardrobe:

I wear hats almost every day during the summer to protect my skin (and let’s be honest, hide dirty hair) and my new favorite is this Ventura Hat from Carly Jean Los Angeles.

Did you catch my podcast interview with Carly? If not, listen here!

“I have been living in these leggings and love them! So comfy and flattering!” – Elisabeth

“Some summer days I want fancy clothes with fun details…and other days I just want a super comfy T-shirt with leggings or denim shorts. This is one of my favorites from Madewell.” – Martha

“These slouchy joggers are SO comfortable, and are available on Amazon Prime!” – Sarah

“I’m pretty obsessed with these maternity overalls recommended by Ashlee Gadd of Coffee + Crumbs.” – Becky

“I’m loving these DIFF sunglasses for summer. They’re a fun design, polarized, and the brand donates a pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair purchased.” – Jordin

In the Kitchen:

“I’m all about easy crockpot meals and we’re loving these Crockpot Chicken Gyros from Liz Adams. The recipe is saved in her Instagram highlights.” – Jordin

“I haven’t tried it yet, but we have been into smoothies lately and I want to try this one from Naptime Kitchen.” – Becky

This easy dish is perfect for hot summer when you don’t want to use the oven, and it’s always a huge hit in my house.” – Elisabeth

“Berry-picking is a must-do summer activity where I live in the Pacific NW. I generally eat half and freeze the other half for pulling out all year long – especially to make my very favorite berry crisp from Shauna Niequist’s book, Bread + Wine (featured on the Dinner: A Love Story blog)” – Martha

“These Grilled California Avocado Chicken Breasts are amazing for summer!” – Sarah
