Self-Care Challenge…

Today’s self-care challenge has less to do with ourselves and more to do with others.

MBM 7

Sometimes the best thing we can do is turn our focus outward and brighten someone else’s day.

So today, I challenge you to do something kind for someone you love or perform a random act of kindness for a stranger.

It can be as simple as taking out the trash or as extravagant as buying the meal for the table next to you at dinner tonight. Whatever you do, have fun with it and notice how you feel when you take the focus off of yourself and turn it toward helping others.

It’s all about the legs today! This standing Pilates sequence will challenge your balance and control. I filmed it at the end of a long day so you will see that it’s hard work for me too! Standing Pilates work is fun way to change things up and improve your functional strength.

  3. I don’t know if this qualifies as a random act of kindness. This morning I was walking the dogs and noticed smoke coming from a neighbors back window and could hear a dog howling. There was a young girl home alone sleeping and the kitchen was on fire! I was able to get her and the dog out of the house while another dog walker sprayed the fire until the fire department arrived. My blood is definitely pumping!

    Thank you, especially for including some lunges today. I like to do them a lot… even though they always make me shake tremendously. But to me that’s the part of their charm.

  6. Great workout today, my thighs were barking during those plies that we were holding. Felt awesome!!!!!! And yes, that top is amazing! Right before you mentioned something about it I was hoping that you had a comment about where it came from or would say something. I was thinking Athleta but wasn’t sure. Their stuff is just so awesome!!! Random acts of kindness are always fun to do and today it was even more fun knowing that it was also our challenge. Hopefully, they aren’t much of a challenge for most people though 😉

      1. My random acts of kindness included helping a friend who was sick, complimenting some total strangers and surprising friends with fresh cut flowers from my garden 🙂
