Happy Friday!

I am SO excited to introduce you to our guest-instructors today. I “met” Jayne and Katie from Sweat and Oranges through their beautiful Instagram account and absolutely love their style.

These adorable sisters from Australia are passionate about inspiring others to live a healthy, vibrant life. Jayne is the “sweat” in Sweat and Oranges. She’s a personal trainer that makes fitness fun and approachable. Katie is a nutritionist and a self-proclaimed “green juice addict.”

Their tagline, “healthy is a way of life” is a perfect fit for us here on The Balanced Life. I love their enthusiasm, inspiring photos on Instagram and adorable accents.

(Am I the only one who always secretly wished for an accent?)

We are Jayne (Sweat) a Personal Trainer, kettlebell fanatic and Mum and Katie (Oranges) a Nutritionist, green juice lover and healthy lifestyle enthusiast. Our philosophy is Healthy is a way of life and we aim to live this everyday. We are passionate about eating lots of good quality, nutrient rich, whole foods and moving our bodies in ways that we really enjoy each day. We love spending time in good relationships with our family and friends and believe this is a really important part of healthy is a way of life. Living a healthy life is not something we do on Mondays or leading up to a big event. It’s a lifestyle, something we want to live and breathe and gives us the energy and confidence to always give our best.

My goal with the guest-instructor workouts is to introduce you to new people AND encourage you to step outside your comfort zone every once and awhile. It’s totally fine to stick with your favorite style of workouts  day to day but it’s good for the soul to try new things from time to time as well.

You never know when you might find something that you love!

Self-Care Challenge…

It’s Friday and I need to let loose. Are you with me?

Today’s Self-Care Challenge will help you leave the stress behind and come alive before the weekend begins…

MBM 10

You know those songs that just bring you back? (Destiny’s Child anyone?)

Create a playlist of some old favorites that make you want to sing and turn it up. Dance around the living room, belt it out in the car, loosen up and have some fun!

The point is to remember that it’s okay to let go, it’s okay to be silly, and it’s good for the soul to lighten up.

Let’s Workout…

Jayne leads us through a challenging (but fun!) body weight workout in today’s video. You will most likely break a sweat and laugh as you try to keep up. Have fun with it and be sure to check out Jayne and Katie on their blog / Instagram / Facebook / Twitter.

Enjoy!

  1. Oh this challenge is easy peasy!!!!!!!! I have a 42 mile commute into work and a 42 mile commute home from work, EVERYDAY. Sooooooooo…….I do ALOT of singing at the top of my lungs in my car and a bit of “car dancing” also 🙂 It feels really, really good and puts me in an awesome mood for work and helps me leave the workday behind, on my way home in the evenings 🙂
    Happy Friday Robin!!

  2. Hi Robin, me again 🙂 When I try to click on Sweat and Oranges website, it says it is Forbidden and I don’t have permission. Any idea what that may be about? I would really love to check out their blog. That workout is going to be awesome to try and tackle tonight when I get home from work 🙂

    1. Hi Debbie!
I just clicked and it’s doing that for me too! I think that means their server is down. Perhaps we sent a rush of traffic to their site. 🙂 I sent them a note to let them know so hopefully their hosting company will have it back up soon. In the meantime be sure to check out their social media sites! Enjoy the workout tonight! 🙂

  3. This was a fun workout! I thought it sounded like it was going to be really challenging and frustrating. It was challenging, but in a good way. I couldn’t really keep up, so I just did my own pace a little slower to make sure I was getting the right form. Thanks for a fun Friday!

  4. That was so much fun! I did it twice & am sweating like crazy! I’ve been following S&O on IG (thanks to you) but it was so much to see them “in person” & see their fun personalities! Next step: download their green smoothie recipe! Thanks Robin for a great series of workouts & self-challenges. You inspire & enlighten me everyday!

  5. Thank you for all your great workouts so far, and the guest workouts 🙂 Look forward to checking out the Sweat and Oranges website when it’s back up too

  6. It was great to be introduced to Jayne and Katie. I definitely couldn’t keep up and I’m pretty sure it would have been entertaining if I had an audience, but I got it done! Have a great Friday everyone!

  7. Robin, I didn’t get to this workout-but I’m saving it for tomorrow. Looks challenging! By the way, I’m a newbie to Pilates and am loving it!

  8. Holy cow! This was way different from last Fridays workout! I was glad to meet them and amazed at how in shape they are!! Thanks for a great challenge on a Friday morning!

  9. Fun, Sweat and Oranges, thank you! Love the sisterly love and they are so cute and entertaining. Thanks for the burst of energy!!

  10. SO Robin, I just did the bonus video for this week and I am so happy. Last week I wrote to you and asked about arm length and said I was having a lot of trouble with the tricep dips. I didn’t think my arms were long enough because my butt always touches the floor before I get a good enough bend in my elbows during the “dip”. WELL, after a lot of arm work this week, thanks to doing your arm videos over and over again, I am happy to report that I was able to do the trice dips this time without my booty touching the floor and I could feel the extra strength I have gained in my arms and core. Thank you, thank you!!!!!!! I am loving to watching and feeling the changes in my body over these two weeks.

  11. I was out of town last week so I decided to do this workout before the abs pilates for the day. I am sweating! Looks like I have some work to do to keep up with those girls.
