Instructions
- Start by making the garlic aioli sauce by mixing together the avocado mayo, chopped garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and sea salt in a mixing bowl. Place in the fridge until ready to use.
- Next, heat a large skillet over medium heat with the coconut oil and cook the turkey burgers for about 6 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
- In a separate pan, add the ghee and sliced yellow onion and saute over low heat until caramelized. This should take about 10-15 minutes.
- Once the turkey burgers and onions are cooked, serve the turkey patties over lettuce leaves and top with the caramelized onions, sliced avocado, and tomato.
- Serve with a dollop of the garlic aioli sauce and enjoy!
I just made this recipe. Very delicious and I will be making this again.
This was good! I seasoned the turkey burgers. Next time I might do 1/2 beef 1/2 turkey. Also – maybe start caramelizing the onions BEFORE starting to cook the turkey burgers (or press the turkey really flat). My burgers were done quite a bit before the onions.
Hi Debbie! So glad to hear you enjoyed this recipe. And we appreciate your feedback about cooking times – thank you! ?
I don’t like turkey meat at all. I have been using ground chicken and it works perfectly in place of it!
I love turkey burgers! We eat then all the time! I season my burgers with worcestershire sauce, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), and black pepper. The caramelized onions were so delicious, I didn’t even miss the bun! Note: To properly caramelize onions, it takes closer to 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Can’t find the recipe for avocado mayo?
Hi Cynthia! This can be store-bought avocado mayo, or mayo made with avocado oil. ?
I made these tonight. I followed the suggestion another member made to season patties with Worcestershire sauce and tamari. I also splashed the onions at the end with just a little balsamic vinegar and that gave a nice flavor. Will definitely make again!
So glad you enjoyed how they turned out, Devin! ?
