    1. It’s a can. I always empty the can and mix in a blender the solid coconut with the water of the coconut that gets separated.

  1. I made one addition to this recipe & it’s now my new favorite breakfast or snack!! I added 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder to make this taste like chocolate pudding. So yummy! (I used Juice Plus Complete, but I imagine any chocolate protein powder would work.) I mixed the coconut milk, chia seeds & protein powder in a shaker bottle, then poured it into the two mason jars. I had to use a spatula to scrape all the chia seeds out of the shaker bottle. I also left out the maple syrup since the protein powder is sweet.

    1. I used frozen raspberries and put it in the mix and also added a tsp cacao powder and toasted coconut flakes. All mixed together, so no need to add anything in the morning, just take out and eat ?

Hi! It might alter the consistency slightly if there is extra water, but it should work just fine if there is enough time for the berries to thaw!

Ok so I finally decided to start following the monthly recipe thingy. I have a question, this recipe says 2 servings but doesn’t specify to split everything into two separate jars? Should we split all these recipes in half? Os it 1 cup of coconut milk in one jar, or 1/2 coconut milk in two separate jars? This question goes for all the other recipes as well. Sorry I’m just a little confused. Thank you!

Hi Tatiana! It depends on your preference. ? For this recipe in particular, you can combine everything in one bowl/container and then serve it from there; or you can mix everything into one bowl and then pour into two individual jars before putting them in the fridge to set.

Just out of curiosity: This recipe is classified as vegetarian but not vegan. What’s the ingredient that makes it non-vegan?

    1. Jackie at The Balanced Life

Hi Margarete! Yes, this recipe is vegan as long as the cacao nibs you use are also vegan (which can be dependent on the brand used). ?

Hi Cheryl, using almond milk might change the texture and flavor slightly but can absolutely work as a substitute!
