  1. Just tried this and it was so good! After not having dessert for so many weeks, it actually tasted really sweet. I added about a cup of plain yogurt to help it blend better and used dark chocolate chips and spearming EO since I had those on hand.

  2. Yum! I’ve made banana nice cream before but never thought to take it in the mint direction. I love mint and love cacao nibs, so this was perfect. It helps to freeze the bananas in pieces and to make sure they’re frozen solid when blended. I interpreted the handful of mint as a big handful, which my husband said was a little too much, but I thought it was great! Thank you for this recipe!

  3. I made this and thought I could sub peppermint extract. I put way too much in! Also, I should have used my big blender instead of my individual smoothie blender. It just stuck to the top. Anyway, hope this helps others not make the same mistakes. Will try again with mint leaves hehe.

Yes a big blender is needed and not sure about frozen bananas. I found this very messy since had to change a few times to blend. I added almond milk just so it would stir up in blender.

Thank you sharing your feedback, Jennifer. We’re sorry to hear you found this recipe messy. Depending on the blender, it might be helpful to stir the ingredients every so often with a spoon to help the blender along or to the serving size in half to better fit. The frozen bananas do help with the creamy consistency ? Hopefully adding more liquid helped a bit!

  5. Loved it, did it tonight, very different & not as weird as I thought it might be. Though note to self peel & chop bananas before freezing them. Whole bananas took longer to blend & frozen bananas not easy to peel, go figure. Lmao ??

Hi Denise! We don’t currently include caloric information or nutritional facts (as we want to focus more on the whole, anti-inflammatory ingredients and how they nourish our bodies). However, we understand that many people need access to nutritional information for health purposes and encourage the use of apps such as MyFitnessPal if needed. ?

  6. I use my food processor successfully as I don’t have a high speed blender. I use a bit of vanilla and DF milk and omit the maple syrup. Sometimes I add cocoa powder for “chocolate” flavor. My whole family loves banana nice-cream! We even have it for summer breakfast with granola on top.

Yum, that sounds like a very yummy breakfast, Sarah! Your version of this recipe sounds great, too. 🙂

  7. I make “nice” cream with frozen bananas and frozen cherries and a drizzle of milk in my food processor. I’ve also added cocoa powder. I never thought to add spinach, or mint!
