This is called Turmeric Lentil bowl, yet I do not see turmeric listed as an ingredient. Is something missing??
Thank you for letting us know, Sheryl! We’ve updated the recipe!
Same question here – where’s the turmeric?
Question regarding lentils used for this recipe. Is this regular brown lentils or can this be made with red or yellow lentils?
Hi there! You can use whichever lentils you prefer/have on hand!
This takes me home. My momma loved lentils.
Re: the missing turmeric. I used to make a tuna noodle casserole with many ingredients that my late husband loved. One night I made it and he looked up from his first bite and said,”Something’s missing.”
It was the tuna.
That is too funny, Tracy!!
That’s great! We’ve probably all been there
❤️
Love the story Tracy! My husband made curry puffs on a camping trip, the evening he planned on asking me to marry him. I guess he was a bit preoccupied, he left out the curry! They were a little bland but I said yes anyway ;).
I just read your comment Tracy and this is hilarious! I’m glad you have these fun memories from your late husband and I’m sorry for your loss. I imagine it is hard this time of year; my heart goes out to you!
I’m looking for ways to use up leftover turkey from Thanksgiving. I’m looking forward to making this today with some turkey added in. Thanks! I love lentils and ideas for Indian spices.
That’s a great idea, Kimberlee!
What can you substitute for the Ghee?
Hi Cheryl! Grass-fed butter or coconut oil are two good substitutes. ?
Delicious! I love all the spices! I think I’ll throw some spinach with my bowl. Does anyone have any other ideas for veggies to include to make it a more well rounded meal?
Spinach is a great idea, Summer! You may also try kale or any other favorite leafy green. Possibly some carrots as well! Let us know how it goes. 🙂
I ended up serving it with roasted carrots and parsnips. Yum!!!!
Delicious, Summer! And your post in the FB group looked great! 🙂 Thanks for sharing this great idea.
How about Tofu?
I just made the lentil dish and put it over riced cauliflower instead of brown rice. Delicious!
That sounds great, Debbie!
Made this dish and it was so yummy, with brown rice. I would try this with added vegetables as above. Thanks
So glad you liked this dish, Daisy! 🙂
