If 15-minute workouts seem too good to be true, let me tell you – I used to be just as skeptical as you are right now.
Short workouts go against everything I knew about burning calories and getting results.
But over the past five years, I have coached thousands of women through my online Pilates programs that focus on short, at-home Pilates workouts. And the results have been INCREDIBLE. ??
1 // 15-Minute Workouts Remove the Mental Hurdle
Short workouts are realistic, practical, and mentally easy to say “yes” to. Knowing you only have to do 15 minutes removes the mental block that often keeps us from working out, and we’re less likely to skip workouts. You can always find 15 minutes, no matter how busy you are.
2 // 15-Minute Workouts Get You Started
Getting started is the hardest part, right? Once you get started and remember how good it feels to exercise, you’ll feel motivated to keep going. Whether you do 15 minutes or end up doing 30 minutes, you will feel accomplished and motivated to do it again the next day.
3 // 15-Minute Workouts Can Be Just as Effective as Longer Workouts
Research shows that short workouts can be just as effective, if not more effective, than longer workouts. This has become increasingly apparent with the popularity of high intensity interval training, but it can be true for Pilates too.
With 15 minutes, you are more focused on your form, muscle activation, and alignment, which is worth far more than an hour of sloppy, tired movement.
Additionally, after just 15 minutes, you will feel more energized, connected to your body, refreshed, and committed to making better choices throughout the day.
4 // 15-Minute Workouts Improve Consistency
If you struggle with consistency, you’re not alone. No matter how busy you are, how far your day goes off course, or how many excuses you come up with, you can ALWAYS find 15 minutes.
Exercising for 15 minutes every day over a long period of time is more effective for overall mental and physical health than exercising for an hour each day but not sticking to it for longer than a few days or weeks.
This is good news, isn’t it?
I have seen it with myself and I have seen it with my clients. Spending just 15 minutes on your mat is absolutely worth it and can absolutely bring results.

So much easier to manage 15 minutes as soon as I get home from work.
The 15 minute workouts is what drew me to the program and I’ve been a member for one year. This is the longest I have ever stuck with a workout program. Love Pilates!
Love the video workouts… the quick but challenging work is very effective! So glad I joined.

We are so glad you’re here, Jeanne! ?
This is such great advice. Thinking that only long workouts are effective creates an all-or-nothing mentality and holds people back from fitness.
Doing the bare minimum necessary makes sure that you build consistency.
Great post!
So glad you found this helpful! We agree that building consistency is so important and then celebrating your wins along the way!??
