Amazing recipe! I felt like I’m treating myself with some kind of chocolate cake batter for breakfast and needed to remind myself that it is only good stuff in there! 😉
Yes! Chocolate for breakfast is definitely a win 🙂 I’m glad to hear you enjoy this recipe!
Amazingly delicious and nutritious. Way more calories than I would normally eat for breakfast. I know The Balanced Life doesn’t encourage calorie counting, but I have to, or I gain weight super easily and super quickly. This will only be an occasional treat for me. But on those days I want a special treat, this makes a much better option than a traditional milkshake. I can feel good about treating myself to these healthy ingredients! And, ooooh, I love that little crunch you get from the granola and seeds. Mmmm-mmmmm. Heavenly!
So glad to hear you enjoy this recipe, Summer! Always a bonus to have chocolate with breakfast 🙂
This is delicious. I am not typically a chocolate for breakfast person (don’t judge….) so I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. I didn’t have hemp seeds so threw in chia seeds instead. Drank half for breakfast and then ended up with an amazing pudding sort of thing after the chia seeds did their work 🙂
Ooh that’s a good idea, Melissa! I’m so glad to hear you enjoy this recipe!
I made a few substitutions based on what I had on-hand (cashew milk, Nutzo Chocolate Power Fuel seed & nut butter, no flaxseeds), and it was great!
Yum! So glad to hear you enjoyed this recipe, Shelli!
I just made this for my lunch and it was amazing—the perfect amount for a quick jolt of protein and good nutrients. I used hemp protein powder, which is my go-to. Ans I used oat milk which made it a little thinner than coconut would have, I think.
I’m curious what brands of protein powder people use. I’m interested in getting some but have no idea where to start!
Thanks for suggestions.
Hi Susan! We recommend Vital Proteins brand. 🙂
I have been trying so many smoothies lately trying to find one I can stomach. This one is the only one I like!!
So glad you like this smoothie recipe, Eryn!
