Ingredients
- 3 cups rolled oats or gluten-free rolled oats
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 1 cup cashews
- 3/4 cup shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar (optional)
- 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 cup sunflower oil or melted coconut oil
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup raisins

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Mix the syrup, oil, and salt in a small bowl. Mix the oats, almonds, cashews, coconut, and brown sugar in separate bowl. Pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture and mix until well coated.
- Cook for an hour and 15 minutes. Stir every 10-20 minutes. Once cooked, add the raisins. Your home will smell heavenly!
My whole family loves this granola! Much better than store bought.
Do you think it would work to skip the brown sugar and to substitute in honey instead of the maple syrup???
Honey would probably be a good substitution, though we haven’t tried that yet. Give it a try and let us know how it goes! The dark brown sugar is optional, so you could even leave it out.
I’ve wanted to make my own granola for years. I finally took the time and used this recipe (with a few mods – whole almonds instead of sliced, no raisins and some ground flax, and just a little bit of the sugar). I LOVE this! Thank you.
