- 4 large Portobello mushrooms
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt + pepper
- 4 oz pizza sauce
- 4-6 tbsp mozzarella cheese (optional)

- Preheat grill to medium heat. Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Prepare mushrooms by removing the stems and then, using a spoon, take out the black gills. Rub or spray olive oil onto both sides of the mushrooms. Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper.
- Once your grill has heated, cook the mushrooms (cavity side down) for about 7-8 minutes. Remove the mushrooms from heat and add pizza sauce, toppings, and cheese. Place the mushrooms back on the grill and cook for another 8-10 minutes, until cheese melts and begins to bubble.
