This has potential, but it was WAY too minty!! I would maybe do 1/4 tsp and taste it and see if you want to add more! I added the 1tsp and can’t eat it, just too much mint flavor.
I tried 1/4…and next time I may start at 1/8 and move up if needed. Thanks for the tip!
Made this today. So good. Used a drop of peppermint essential oil, was just the right amount
I read the comment about too much mint too late. It tasted like drinking straight peppermint extract, even though I tried to doctor it by adding extra syrup, cocoa powder, almond milk, ice…nothing helped and I had to toss it. I would start with 1/8 tsp and increase from there!
I should have read the comment first too! I should have trusted my instinct that 1 t was a LOT for a smoothie.
I revisited this recipe because I really wanted it to work, and I added probably 1/8 tsp and it turned out great!!
My first attempt with the given recipe was ok. For my preferences, I reduced the extract to half a teaspoon and doubled the cocoa powder. Perfect! I also added a little protein powder and left out the ice. It reminds me of a liquid Thin Mint cookie!
Anyone try this with avocado instead of banana? I think I might. Not a banana fan.
I haven’t, but I think it would help you get the creaminess people normally get when they add bananas in with their smoothies
Instead of mint extract, I used a T of Trader Joe’s Peppermint Hot Chocolate. I also added protein powder for satiety and twice as much fresh spinach. So good!! Thank you! This is my lunch, not breakfast. I can’t really do chocolate for breakfast.
That sounds delicious, Patricia!
YUM!!!! ?
Try mint leaves – amazing
Hi, has anyone tried making shakes. (This one out others) in the morning & saving them to drink at morning tea time? Do they keep ok?
